People don't fail diets; diets fail people!

While in this same position years ago, I became increasingly frustrated with the short-term results and regaining the weight. Nothing I tried seemed to stick for very long, so I was determined to find a better way. 

The problem was that I was looking in all the wrong places. I thought that removing carbohydrates or making other macronutrient adjustments – like high protein or high fat - would somehow allow me to lose weight and keep it off. A few diets did help me lose weight, but the plans were simply unsustainable - until I switched my approach.

While studying the human body and metabolism, I realized that weight loss still boils down to calories vs. calories out; however, the real issue is that you can’t eat very many calories or carbohydrates if you have a slow metabolism! So, if you don’t want to starve your body literally and figuratively, then it’s time to discover how to boost your metabolism. 

When you realize that the real issue is metabolism rather than calories, you can begin to approach weight loss differently. You now understand why the secret to losing weight and keeping it off centers around boosting your metabolism so you can eat more calories and still lose weight. The way to do this is by optimizing hormonal levels in the body:

●      Adrenals (cortisol)

●      Estrogen

●      Progesterone

Once those levels are optimized, weight loss is automatic. We may have been able to keep the weight off without trying when we were younger; however, as we’ve aged (or had children), these imbalances make it difficult to stay healthy.
